Its most relevant function is to ensure the quality of research

The Scientific Advisory Council is appointed by the Board of Trustees and includes an indeterminate number of scientists of recognized prestige and competence, especially in the field of water and all those sciences that relate to it. The different priority research areas of ICRA are represented in this Council.

One of its most important functions is to monitor the quality of the research carried out at ICRA. Thus, it acts as an advisory body with regard to questions related to the scientific activities submitted to its consideration, and, when entrusted to it, it will also exercise the functions of an evaluation body of these activities.

The Scientific Advisory Council has the following functions

  • Carry out tasks of evaluation and selection of research staff.
  • It can act in specific committees of an advisory nature, depending on the different lines of research carried out by the ICRA Foundation with the composition and functions agreed by the Board of Trustees.
  • They may be required to attend Board of Trustees meetings with a voice but without a vote, in accordance with the advisory purpose that may be entrusted to them.
