Dr Jelena Radjenovic graduated at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Belgrade University, Serbia. She obtained her PhD at The University of Barcelona in 2005, under the supervision of Prof Damia Barcelo and Prof Mira Petrovic. Shortly after, Jelena moved to the Advanced Water Management Centre at The University of Queensland, Australia, to work on the development of electrochemical systems for brine treatment. In 2014, she moved to the Catalan Institute for Water Research as a Marie Curie research fellow. Her current research is focused on the development of electrochemical water treatment systems for the removal of organic contaminants.
