Promoting the training of young water professionals from Southeast Asia as a partner of INOWASIA

ICRA is giving support as associated partner to INOWASIA, an Erasmus+ project coordinated by the University of Girona within the Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices Programme, with a consortium of 11 full partners from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, France and Spain, and a total budget of 1 M€. INOWASIA aims to train a new generation of young Southeast Asian water professionals, with a strong and multidisciplinary background in Sustainable Water Management, including a global view of the sector’s current and future challenges, together with a very specific approach to the local demands, and the soft skills required to join and lead tomorrow’s intricate water sector market.

Among other activities, INOWASIA plans:

1) to implement innovative water courses in the existing water related Master’s degrees in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. These courses will combine on-line training with Problem-Based Learning, a student-centred educational methodology which promotes the development of personal skills and abilities.

2) to codesign and to build a network of Water Oriented Living Labs to implement real-life water demo sites, where high level practical formation is promoted, and citizens, companies and other relevant stakeholders are engaged.

3) to create an International multi-level Water Resources Network composed of students, academics, professionals, and stakeholders to stimulate a cross-disciplinary collaboration which can provide new and creative solutions to all the potential water challenges.
