Short biography
She had had her Ph.D. on Marine Sciences in 2008 at Cadiz University, Spain. In the course of her Ph.D. she was working with synthetic surfactants researching on their bioaccumulation, biotransformation and toxic effects. In 2009 she moved to the United Kingdom where she had a postdoctoral position at Sussex University, Brighton. During this period she had the opportunity of working with endocrine disrupting compounds and their toxicity identification and evaluation. Besides, she acquired a wide experience in metabolomic studies for the identification of metabolic pathways of contaminants as well as biochemical biomarkers of exposure using mass spectrometry. In August 2013 she joined the Water Quality group at ICRA where she is focused on the determination of organic contaminants and their transformation products in water and biota under the frame of the European project ECSafeSEAFOOD, and she is responsible of the Mesocosm facilities management under the Sea on a Chip project.

Research interests
Her main research interest is to study the interaction between organic emergent contaminants and organisms, focusing on their bioaccumulation, biotransformation and toxic effects.

Current Projects
ECsafeSEAFOOD
Sea on a Chip
