START A GREAT RESEARCH PROJECT SCARCE (2010-2014), ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL CHANGE IN THE SPANISH RIVERS

Damià Barceló, director of ICRA and deputy director of IDAEA-CSIC is responsible for the coordination of the 11 scientific teams that work in the Project CONSOLIDER-INGENIO 2010 (SCARCE).

Over hundred scientifics evaluating and predicting the Effects of Global Change on the availability of water, its quality and the socioeconomic impacts in Mediterranean basins of the Iberian Peninsula.

With a budget of 4.5 million euros in five years (2010-2014), scientific leaders in especific disciplines studying the Llobregat basin, Ebro and Guadalquivir Júcar, like representative rivers of a large set of socioecological conditions influence in the Mediterranean area of Spain .
